Hyderabad City, Telangana: Demonstrating their commitment to public safety and the smooth conduct of religious festivals, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Shri V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, participated in the peak pooja and flag-hoisting ceremony at the Lal Darwaja Sri Simhavahini Mahankali Temple during the Ashadha Bonalu celebrations.
During the event, the Commissioner offered special prayers and highlighted the temple’s rich heritage, noting that the Bonalu festival has been celebrated with devotion at Lal Darwaja for over 120 years. He stated that, following the peaceful conduct of the Golconda and Balkampet Bonalu celebrations, extensive planning had been undertaken to ensure the success of the Lal Darwaja festivities.
The Hyderabad City Police, in coordination with GHMC, Water Works, Electricity, Roads & Buildings Department, and other agencies, have implemented comprehensive security and public convenience measures. Around 2,000 police personnel have been deployed under the supervision of the South Zone Police to manage crowds, regulate traffic, and maintain law and order.
To ensure the safety of devotees, She Teams and the Crime Branch are maintaining round-the-clock surveillance to prevent eve-teasing, chain snatching, pickpocketing, and other offences. The police appealed to devotees and temple committee members to cooperate fully in ensuring that the Bonalu celebrations are conducted in a peaceful, secure, and joyous atmosphere.
The meticulous planning and coordinated efforts of the Hyderabad Police reflect their dedication to providing a safe, orderly, and spiritually fulfilling experience for thousands of devotees attending the festival.
