Secunderabad, Telangana: In a major community policing initiative, the Secunderabad Zone Police conducted a Mega Community Contact Programme (Cordon and Search) in the Mangaru Basti and Addagutta areas under the jurisdiction of Lallaguda Police Station to enhance public safety, strengthen police-public relations, and deter criminal activities.
The operation was carried out under the direct supervision and guidance of DCP Rakshitha Krishna Murthy, IPS, with the participation of the Additional DCP, Assistant Commissioners of Police, the Inspector of Lallaguda Police Station, the Clues Team, Traffic Police, and around 150 police personnel.
During the operation, police seized 24 vehicles found without valid documents or under suspicious circumstances and confiscated 15 liquor bottles that were being kept in violation of legal provisions. The team also verified five rowdysheeters and ten other suspects, counselling them to refrain from unlawful activities and maintain good conduct.
As part of the community outreach programme, DCP Rakshitha Krishna Murthy, IPS, personally interacted with residents of Mangaru Basti and Addagutta to understand their grievances and address local security concerns. She encouraged citizens to remain vigilant, promptly report any suspicious activities to the police, and install CCTV cameras to improve neighbourhood security and assist in crime prevention.
The programme reflects the Secunderabad Police’s commitment to proactive policing, crime prevention, and building stronger partnerships with the community. By combining enforcement with public interaction, the initiative aims to create a safer environment, enhance public confidence in the police, and promote active citizen participation in maintaining law and order.
