Venmani: Yoga training has been started for police officers of 8 police stations of Chengannur sub-division with the intention of getting a healthy mind and body and getting relief from mental conflict and diseases. The project is being implemented in collaboration with VENSEC Charitable Society based at Venmani, Kerala Police Chengannur Sub-Division. The Police Yoga Club for this has started on 17.7.2022 in Mavelikkara. Alappuzha District Police Chief Mr. G. Jayadev IPS In the conference chaired by Hon. Mavelikkara MLA Mr. M. S. Arun Kumar inaugurated the Yoga Club.
Chengannur DYSP Mr. Anish V Korah IPS, Mavelikkara Municipality Chairman Mr. KV Sreekumar delivered the keynote address. Municipal Council Member Mr. Ani Varghese, Mavelikkara Municipality Vice Chairperson Mrs. Lalitha Ravindranath, Chairman Mr. Vensec, Mr. Koshi Samuel, Government Pleader Mrs. Safia Sudhir, Mavelikkara Inspector Mr. C. Sreejith, Yoga Instructor Mr. Umesh Unnikyasnan and others spoke.
As the training had already started, the group also conducted a yoga demonstration under the guidance of the instructor. In the first phase, the Police Yoga Club will impart yoga training as master trainers to selected officers of 8 police stations under Chengannur Police Sub-Division. These officers will then train others in their respective stations. Cheryanadu Swastik Yoga Center Director and Yoga Guru Mr. Vensec is the practitioner of the training led by Mr. Umesh Unnikyashnan.
