Shopian: On 30.05.2021, Wachi police post Incharge SI Mr. Nazir Ah received reliable information that two persons namely Mudasir Ah Malik and Yawar Ah Malik, both brothers, sons of Ghulam Mohammad Malik and residents of Malik Mohalla Melhora, have concealed Contraband Substance in their residential house at Melhora. Acting swiftly, in Incharge police post-Wachi along with SHO Zainapora Inspector Mr. Khalid Fayaz after taking due consideration of procedure in vogue along with concerned executive magistrate raided the said residential house of said persons at Melhora, under the supervision of SDPO Zainapora Mr. Riaz Ahmed (JKPS) and on a thorough search of said residential house, Contraband Substance apparently Charas powder weighing 3kg and 500 grams and poppy straw (Fukki) weighing 1 Kg and 500 grams, besides cash of Indian currency of Rs.14,52,100 INR, have been recovered concealed in the wardrobe of one of the rooms in the ground floor from said house.
The Contraband Substance and Cash in INR recovered have been seized on the spot under the proper procedure. Both said persons accused in the said case have been arrested. A case with FIR No 54/21 U/S 08/15/20_29 NDPS has been registered in Zainapora Police Station. Investigation of the case is going on. The arrested person Mudda Malik is a notorious drug peddler of the area.
The community members have with folded hands requested the public to come forward to share any information with regard to drug dealers with the police. So that the drug peddlers would be dealt with sternly under law.
The general public of Shopian especially of the Zainapora area has hailed the role of Shopian Police as they were taking strict action against drug peddlers who are enemies of society.
The Police said our consistent actions against drug dealers should reassure community members that we are making our endeavor to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
