Siliguri: On 5.4.2022 evening Mr. Kumkum Chowdhry of Deshbandhupara was returning home. At around 7.10 pm two bike borne miscreants snatched her bag containing her mobile phone while she was walking towards Tarai Tarapada School.
Traumatized and apprehensive, Mrs. Chowdhry reported the matter promptly to Siliguri Police Station. The whole Police Station pooled in their resources to identify the miscreants. The clues she gave, the modus operandi, the technical surveillance and a complex study of CCTVs as well as other data lead the team headed by ASI Mr. Subir Sen of PC party to zero in on the miscreants.
Amar Basfore (22) and Amal Goswami (26) of Shantipara NJP Police Station were rounded up and taken into custody within 24 hours. Thorough interrogation, raids and searches lead to the recovery of stolen phone and money. The accused are cough syrup addicts, the stocks of which were also found on them.
Last evening, IC Siliguri, Insp Mr. Sudip Chakraborty met Mrs. Kumkum Chowdhry and returned her mobile phone. Also, ASI Mr. Subir Sen was rewarded by Mr. Gaurav Sharma IPS, CP Siliguri.
