Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, November 20: In a compassionate initiative aimed at supporting orphaned and mentally disabled individuals, District Superintendent of Police Sri K.V. Maheshwara Reddy, IPS, launched the Manobandhu Ambulance at the District Police Office on Thursday. The program was organized jointly by the Manobandhu Foundation and the Red Cross Organization.
Speaking on the occasion, the District SP praised the selfless service being extended by both organizations. He stated that their collective efforts to support the most vulnerable members of society are truly commendable. He emphasized that strong coordination between the government, the police department, and voluntary organizations will bring meaningful change in the rehabilitation of mentally challenged individuals.
The SP noted that the newly launched ambulance will help identify mentally challenged persons living on the streets and provide them essential services such as food, medical care, and shelter—ensuring dignity and care for those in need.
Manobandhu Foundation Uttarandhra Convener Bina Delhi Rao, State Supervisor Bala Suresh, Red Cross District Chairman P. Jaganmohan Rao, and several other members participated in the program, reflecting a strong commitment toward social welfare.
This initiative marks another step forward in community-oriented policing and compassionate service.
