Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, December 06: Demonstrating swift and efficient crime detection, the Tekkali Police have successfully solved a series of recent theft cases in the Tekkali division, leading to the arrest of a habitual offender and the recovery of valuable stolen property.
Acting on credible information, police teams apprehended accused Benia Jagabandhu @ Poturaju (27) near the Meliyaputty flyover. During the operation, officers recovered 78.205 grams of gold ornaments, 38 grams of silver ornaments and ₹10,000/- in cash.
Recovered Case Property
The stolen items were linked to multiple cases registered at Tekkali Police Station:
Cr. No. 173/2024 – Gold pieces, gold rings -5.83 g + 2 rings (2.915 g)
Cr. No. 422/2024 – Gold necklace – 34.98 g
Cr. No. 459/2024 – Cash ₹10,000/-
Cr. No. 240/2025 – Children’s ornaments, ear rings, height chains, necklace, pendant, silver items – Gold — multiple pieces; Silver — knives & jewelry
Police officials confirmed that Benia Jagabandhu is a known habitual offender and suspect-sheet person at Tekkali Police Station, previously arrested in several theft cases.
The accused has been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody. Further investigation into related cases is underway.
