Telangana: With the advent of COVID-19 a large number of people have been affected by the deadly contagious infection which to a great deal is life-threatening. The persons who are affected by COVID-19 initially do not exhibit any symptoms but it gets transmitted to other people very quickly. The Police being the front line warrior in the fight against Corona has now received a very advanced material through which the police can find who is wearing and who is not wearing the mask and suitable action can be taken against the violators.
The DGP of Telangana Mr. M Mahendar Reddy IPS said Artificial Intelligence (AI) based Face Mask Violation Enforcement is being rolled out by the Telangana State Police. Leveraging computer vision and Deep Learning Technique is being implemented on surveillance CCTVs across the cities is the first of its kind in India. This facility shall be enabled shortly across the 3 Commissionerates.
