Haldwani: The personal of the Uttarakhand Police in Haldwani won the heart of a female tourist who was visiting India from Britain. Ms. Malani Philip, a resident of Britain, came to Haldwani by train, the next day she had to go to Almora for a meditation course. To spend the night she decided to stay in a hotel so she booked an auto to go from the railway station to the hotel. The auto driver took the foreign woman to Gaulapul on the pretext of leaving her at the hotel and escaped with her belongings. The woman reached Banbhulpura police station with the help of local people and informed the police about the entire case. A case was filed and the investigation was initiated and soon the police arrested the accused auto driver Nadeem, resident of Azad Nagar, and recovered the goods of the foreign woman on the spot. When the woman expressed her inability to reach Haldwani from Almora on her own, the Haldwani police also sent a police team to help her reach Almora safely. The woman was very happy to get the bag back and she thanked the police.
