<![CDATA[A woman, who ganged up with her paramour and two others to carry out a robbery at her brother’s house in Shalimar Bagh last week, has been arrested. All accused have been caught, the police told on Sunday. According to the police, Mrs. Arti Agarwal had conspired with her paramour Mohammad Khan, who is the main accused in the case. While Arti is reportedly in a troubled marriage, Khan is a widower. The duo had allegedly decided to run away and start a garments business with the robbed money. On June 15, Khan and another accused Manjur Ali entered the house forcibly and attacked Arti’s brother Brijesh Agarwal, his wife Rohini Agarwal and their five-year-old son. After thrashing them, the duo decamped with a safe containing cash and valuables estimated to be worth around Rs.1 lakh. Mrs.Arti was also present when the duo conducted the attack. This, the police told, was part of the plan as she wanted to ensure that they got away, and even help them escape if needed. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police-I (North-west )Ms. Vijayanta Arya told that she [Arti] pretended to engage in a scuffle with Khan and Ali. Ms. Arya added that CCTV footage had revealed the two men escaped on a bike with the safe and mobile phones. “Analysis of the evidence led to the bike owner being identified as Khan, the main accused. A Special Staff team led by the ACP [Shalimar Bagh] arrested him the next day from Seelampur,” she told, adding that Ali was also arrested. It was Khan who reportedly told the police about Arti’s involvement. He said that he wanted to repay debts with the money robbed, besides wanting to start a business. Ms. Arya told “Surveillance revealed that Arti had over 500 telephonic conversations with Khan over the last few months. Further interrogation revealed the involvement of one Ahmed, who was also nabbed from Seelampur,”.]]>
