Thrissur Rural: Acting on instructions from Mr. Navneet Sharma IPS, a team led by DYSP Sumesh and Inspector KO Pradeep arrested Riju (25), a native of Vellangallur in Iringalakuda, for the theft of a scooter from Vallachira Pullani field. The Hero Maestro scooter, belonging to a resident of Wallachira, was stolen from Cherp Pullanipad. The police, who were investigating the incident, took Riju into custody and interrogated him on Sunday, recovering the stolen scooter.
Riju, who was recently released from jail after serving time for stealing a scooter in Mala Katupupkara, has several theft cases against him. There are four theft cases at Iringalakuda station, two at Mala station, and others at Thrissur West, Pudukkad, Thrissur Medical College, Kodungallur, Mathilakam, Kattur, and Cherp stations. The accused was produced in court and remanded. The team that nabbed him included SI Sreelal S, Senior CPOs PA Sarasappan, ES Jeevan, and CPOs KS Umesh, MU Faisal, and KA Haseeb.
