Gwalior: On the instructions of the Superintendent of Police, Gwalior Mr. Amit Sanghi IPS, for the convenience and assistance of tourists coming from the country and abroad, Tourist Police has been constituted and 6 tourist police outposts are being constructed in Gwalior district. The Nodal Officer for this entire action plan is Additional Superintendent of Police City-Central Mrs. Hitika Vasal IPS. Two sub-inspectors of Gwalior Police, an assistant sub-inspector, one head constable (male), one head constable (female) along with two men and two men and two sub-inspectors of Gwalior police, who are proficient and trained in the English language, are being set up by the Gwalior Police. Women constables will be posted. This will solve the problems of tourists coming from the country and abroad quickly. For this, helpline number 7049111724 has also been issued by Gwalior Police.
The main function of Tourist Police and Tourist Police Posts made by Gwalior Police is to provide security to tourists from criminal elements and criminal incidents at tourist places of the district, Registered Tourist Guide to tourists through Tourist Help Center (Tourist Police Outpost), proper transportation, providing rate and accommodation-related information, complaints about taxi/cab drivers charging more for tourists, Speedy redress of complaints regarding misbehavior with tourists in hotels/tourist places. Along with this, action will have to be taken on the complaints and information coming on the tourist helpline number. Under this action plan, Tourist Help Centers or Tourist Police Outposts have been set up at Airport, Station Bajaria, Paad in the first phase by Gwalior Police. Police officers and employees to be posted at Tourist Help Police Posts will be selected and trained according to their qualifications. In the second phase of this action plan, Tourist Help Centers or Tourist Police Outposts will be set up at Phulbagh, Baijatal, and Maharajbara.
