Gwalior: Superintendent of Police, Gwalior Mr. Amit Sandhi IPS had received information from the informer that a person was trying to sell illegal weapons near Nayagaon Tiraha Gwalior Shivpuri Highway. Superintendent of Police Gwalior immediately directed Additional Superintendent of Police Gwalior (City East/Crime Branch) Mr. Rajesh Dandotia IPS to constitute a team of Crime Branch to nab the arms smuggler.
Working under the guidance of DSP Crime Branch Mr. Ratnesh Tomar IPS and Mr. Vijay Bhadauria IPS in compliance with the instructions of senior officers, on November 22, the Crime Branch team under the leadership of Police Inspector-in-Charge Crime Branch Inspector Mr. Damodar Gupta was dispatched to the place mentioned by the informer. The crime branch team found a suspect standing with the bag. Seeing the team, the miscreant tried to run away but was surrounded and arrested. On searching the bag of the arrested miscreant, five pistols of 32 bore and one live round were found in it. On interrogation, the accused was told to bring the weapons from Sendhwa and to sell a pistol in Gwalior for Rs.25-30 thousand. A case has been registered against the accused under the Arms Act in the Crime Branch, Gwalior, and has been taken into consideration.
