CHENNAI: Reports that AIADMK general V K Sasikala has been enjoying special facilities in Parappana Agrahara prison is wrong, Karnataka jail department officials have answered in a set of questions raised by an advocate in a RTI. Advocate M P Rajavelayutham to whom the deputy inspector-general of prisons responded in a Right to Information (RTI) Act filed by the former said the Central Prison, Parappana Agrahara did not receive any application of transfer of prison from Karnataka to Tamil Nadu. When asked if any recommendation was made to Karnataka to transfer Sasikala and her relative J Elavarasi – both convicts in a disproportionate assets case to a jail in Tamil Nadu, the jail authorities replied: “The jail has not received any application from the convict prisoners.” Except for a television set nothing has been provided to her, the jail authorities said in the questionnaire raised by advocate M P Rajavelayutham.]]>
