In a recent incident, a joint team comprising of the CID (SB) and Border Security Force Mizoram Sector collaborated to seize 104 grams of heroin from two suspects in Falkland Veng, Aizawl. The drug was found in the joint possession of Paumuansanga (22) s/o Ginzapauva of Dam Veng, Hnahlan, Champhai District, and Lalnunzira (44) s/o Thansiama (L) of Mission Veng, Aizawl, near the BS Farm area.
The coordination and cooperation between the two agencies played a critical role in this operation’s success. The joint team’s quick and efficient action prevented the drugs from reaching their intended destination, thus averting the possibility of addiction and related harms to society.
Following the seizure, an FIR was lodged at the Special Narcotics Police Station for further investigation. The authorities are working diligently to identify the source of the drugs, track down the supplier and investigate the suspects’ involvement.
