Janjgir-Champa: In a significant development, the Akaltara police have taken swift and decisive action against the accused, identified as Devkumar, also known as Parag, who is 35 years old and hails from Sakin Jorha Dabri in the Hardibazar District of Korba. The charges leveled against him are grave, as he stands accused of engaging in fraudulent activities under the pretext of offering employment opportunities in S.E.C.L Deepka.
According to the reports, Devkumar allegedly cheated three unsuspecting individuals by promising them lucrative jobs at the said organization. Exploiting their desperation for better livelihoods, he deceitfully extracted a substantial sum of 6 lakhs from his victims. These unfortunate victims, who were seeking legitimate employment, fell prey to the accused’s cunning ploy.
Recognizing the severity of such crimes that victimize innocent people and tarnish the trust in society, the authorities wasted no time and acted promptly. Following the investigation into the fraud allegations, the Akaltara police apprehended the accused Devkumar without delay. After due legal procedures, he was subsequently sent to judicial remand, demonstrating the seriousness with which the law enforcers are handling this case.
The charges pressed against Devkumar fall under Section 420 Bhadvi, which deals with offenses related to cheating and dishonesty, carrying significant penalties upon conviction.
