Tirupati Rural: At approximately 03:15 am on September 14, 2023, unidentified individuals utilized gas devices to rob Rs. 18,26,500/- from an SBI ATM near Canara Bank in Dhanalakshmi Nagar, Tirupati Rural(M). Upon receiving a complaint from concerned officials, a case was filed at Tirupati Rural Police Station. In response to this challenge, the police launched an investigation and formed two special teams. The investigation confirmed that the gang responsible hailed from the Mewat region of Haryana.
Acting on prior information, six suspects were apprehended, four of whom were found at Garudadri Apartments, Tirupati Rural(M), and the remaining two at Ranjit Dhaba on Tirupati-Kadapa Road, Renigunta-M), on October 12, 2023. Authorities confiscated 2 lakh in cash, an EECO car, two lorries, 21 kilograms of ganja, two country guns, a gas gun, and a gas cylinder from their possession. DGP Mr. K.V. Rajendranath Reddy IPS praised the Tirupati Police for swiftly apprehending the thieves shortly after receiving the complaint.
