Uttarakhand, Almora, April 17, 2025: In a commendable community outreach initiative, Chaukhutia Police welcomed students and teachers of GGIC Chaukhutia for an educational tour of the police station, aimed at fostering awareness and trust between the police and young citizens.
The visit was facilitated under the guidance of SHO Shri Satish Chandra Kapri, who personally briefed the students on the day-to-day functioning of the police station, record-keeping systems, and the role of law enforcement in maintaining public safety. Students were also given an overview of the newly implemented criminal laws and their significance in modern policing.
A major highlight of the session was an in-depth awareness program on cybercrime prevention, where students were sensitized about various forms of online fraud, including customer care scams, Google/Anydesk frauds, QR code and job scams, OLX frauds, social media manipulation, digital arrest frauds, and fake KYC/UPI updates. The importance of the cybercrime helpline number 1930 was also emphasized.
Further, the students received valuable information on traffic rules, anti-drug awareness, anti-human trafficking measures, women and child protection laws, and emergency contact services such as Dial 112. Through engaging interaction, students were encouraged to share this knowledge within their communities, helping to spread awareness about legal rights and safety.
This initiative reflects the Uttarakhand Police’s commitment to proactive policing and community engagement. It also provided a unique opportunity for students to connect with law enforcement in a positive, informative, and inspiring manner.
