Kerala, Thrissur City: In a firm step toward maintaining law and order, Thrissur District Collector Dr. Arjun Pandian has ordered preventive detention under the KAPPA Act against Panikaveetil Naufeel (24), a habitual offender involved in multiple serious crimes.
Naufeel, a native of Mannuthi, has been implicated in several criminal cases under the jurisdiction of Mannuthi, Cherpp, Ollur, Peechi, and Irinjalakuda Police Stations, including attempt to murder and assault. Despite previously being jailed, Naufeel reportedly resumed criminal activities upon release.
Acting on this pattern of repeated offenses, the Mannuthi Police initiated proceedings under the Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act (KAPPA). Following completion of due process, he has now been placed under preventive detention for six months.
This action demonstrates the Thrissur Police’s zero tolerance toward habitual offenders and its proactive efforts in safeguarding public peace and safety.
