Udupi, Karnataka, Sept 29, 2025: Amasebailu Police have arrested Praveen, who had been absconding in a jewellery fraud case, and seized a car and gold in connection with the crime.

According to the complaint filed by Manjunath Golla of Hosangady village, owner of Sri Krishna Jewellery, the accused approached his shop on November 3, 2024, posing as a customer named Santhosh. He purchased two gold rings worth ₹30,000, claiming to have paid via NEFT and showing a mobile transaction screenshot. However, the amount was never credited. When questioned, the accused repeatedly gave excuses about network issues and promised repayment but failed to do so.
