Wayanad, Kerala, October 28, 2025: The Kalpetta Police, displaying vigilance during night patrol duty, apprehended three individuals involved in a temple theft after noticing a suspicious car with its number plate covered in mud.
The police team, led by Kalpetta Control Room ASI C. Mujeeb, intercepted a red Swift car during routine patrols in the early hours of Tuesday morning (28.10.2025). Upon inspection, the team discovered stolen items, including cash and an amplifier, linked to a burglary at the Kariyathan Kavu Temple in Vaduvanchal, Chellangode.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Muhammed Sinan (20) of Perumanna, Kozhikode, Thamalu Rifan (20) of Parambil Bazar, and a juvenile accomplice. Investigation revealed that the accused broke into the temple between October 27 and 28, forcibly entered the premises by breaking open the door, and stole valuables from the office room and treasury.
The quick response and presence of mind of the patrol team led to the swift detection and recovery of the stolen property. The accused were later handed over to the Meppadi Police Station for further legal action.
The operation was carried out efficiently by SCPO Eldho Isaac and CPO P.U. Nidheesh Babu, under the supervision of ASI C. Mujeeb, reflecting the strong night patrol strategy and proactive policing efforts of the Kalpetta Police.
