Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka, October 2025: The mobile phones traced during October 2025 using the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal have been successfully returned to their rightful owners at various police stations across Chikkamagaluru District.
The initiative, implemented under the guidance of the District Superintendent of Police, reflects the continued efforts of Chikkamagaluru Police to utilize technology-driven solutions for efficient public service and property recovery.
The CEIR portal, an initiative of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Government of India, enables tracking and blocking of lost or stolen mobile phones across all telecom networks, assisting law enforcement agencies in recovery and return to owners.
The public is hereby informed and encouraged that in the event of losing a mobile phone, they should promptly:
Lodge a police complaint regarding the loss.
Report the incident through the KSP Mobile App.
Register the loss on the CEIR web portal – [https://www.ceir.gov.in](https://www.ceir.gov.in) – by providing:
* Details of the mobile phone (IMEI number)
* Identity proof of the owner
* Copy of the police complaint
