Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka, November 10: As part of the ongoing community policing and awareness initiatives, the Police Sub-Inspector of Aldur Police Station visited the Government Higher Primary School, Handi village, under Aldur Police Station limits, and conducted an awareness session for students.
During the interaction, the PSI sensitized the students about the ill effects of drug abuse, the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and the Child Marriage Prohibition Act. The session aimed to educate young students on the importance of making safe choices, understanding their rights, and preventing exploitation or abuse.
The PSI also urged the students to stay away from bad influences, report any suspicious activities to their teachers or the police, and act as responsible members of society.
The awareness programme was well-received by the students and teachers, who appreciated the efforts of the police department in promoting a safer and drug-free community.
