Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, December 20: District Superintendent of Police Sri K.V. Maheshwara Reddy, IPS**, announced that, in view of the overwhelming response and active public participation**, the schedule of the “Abhyudayam Cycle Yatra” in Srikakulam district has been slightly revised and extended.
He stated that, as decided by Visakhapatnam Range DIG Sri Gopinath Jatti, IPS, and the district police, the awareness cycle rally will now continue till January 3, with the grand concluding meeting to be held at Ichapuram on the same day. The initiative aims to completely curb the use of narcotics such as ganja, while creating widespread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse.
The SP noted that students, youth, women, public representatives, officials, and voluntary organizations have been participating in large numbers, reflecting the district’s united resolve against drugs. He emphasized that while the police are taking strict legal action against drug trafficking and misuse, equal importance is being given to awareness and community engagement to bring positive change in society.
Appealing to the public, SP Sri K.V. Maheshwara Reddy, IPS, urged citizens to continue their enthusiastic participation and support to make the Abhyudayam Cycle Yatra a landmark success in building a drug-free and healthy society.
