Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh: The 77th Republic Day celebrations were held with great splendor and patriotic fervor at the Arts College Grounds, Srikakulam. The event witnessed impressive displays and ceremonial honors that drew wide appreciation from the public.
A special highlight of the celebrations was the performance by police dogs. The police dog Munna paid tribute to District Collector Shri Swapnil Dinakar Pundkar and District Superintendent of Police Shri K.V. Maheshwara Reddy, IPS, by presenting a bouquet of flowers, earning applause from the gathering. Police dogs Beauty and Daisy showcased their skills through an obedience drill, while a thrilling hurdle jump demonstration by the police dog squad, supported by drone surveillance, captivated the spectators.
As per the directives of the State Government, DGP Commendation Disc awards were presented to deserving police officers and staff by the District Collector and the District SP in recognition of their meritorious service. In addition, certificates of appreciation were distributed to police personnel who displayed exceptional dedication and talent in the line of duty.
On the occasion, the District Collector and District SP congratulated all the award recipients and expressed hope that their commitment and professionalism would serve as an inspiration to others in the force. Several police officers and staff members participated in the programme, making the Republic Day celebrations a memorable and motivating event.
