Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: A major leadership transition is expected in the Uttar Pradesh Police, paving the way for experienced officers to assume key responsibilities and further strengthen the state’s policing system.
Following the departure of Mr. Sujit Pandey from the National Police Academy, senior-level administrative changes are anticipated within the Uttar Pradesh Police hierarchy.
As part of the expected reshuffle, Mr. Amrendra Singh Sengar, currently serving as the Police Commissioner of Lucknow, is likely to be promoted to the rank of Director General (DG), recognizing his experience and service in law enforcement.
Subsequently, Tarun Gauba, a 2001-batch IPS officer presently serving as Additional Director General (Security), is expected to take charge as the new Police Commissioner of Lucknow.
The anticipated appointments reflect the state’s emphasis on experienced leadership, professional policing, and administrative continuity. Such leadership transitions are expected to further strengthen law and order, improve public service delivery, and enhance the effectiveness of policing across Uttar Pradesh.
