Madurai, Tamil Nadu: To ensure public safety, and acting on the orders of the Director General of Police (Tamil Nadu) and under the supervision of the Madurai City Police Commissioner, police officers and personnel—led by Assistant Commissioners and Inspectors—conducted night-time foot patrols across all police ranges within the Madurai city limits on September 1, 2026. During these patrols, they interacted directly with the public to listen to their grievances and gather information regarding safety. They also raised public awareness about crime prevention and the maintenance of law and order.
