Hyderabad City, Telangana: In a significant move to strengthen the fight against drug-related crimes, the Future City Police conducted a training programme on the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Telangana State Police Academy.
The training programme was attended by Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), Station House Officers (SHOs), Sub-Inspectors (SIs) and Station Writers. The programme focused on strengthening the skills of police personnel in handling cases registered under the NDPS Act.
Future City Police Commissioner Dr. Tarun Joshi, IPS, led the training and emphasized the importance of evidence-based investigation and strict compliance with legal and procedural requirements. He highlighted the need for police officers to follow proper procedures while registering, investigating and prosecuting drug-related cases.
The training aimed to improve the quality of investigations, ensure proper documentation and strengthen the overall enforcement of the NDPS Act. Police personnel were sensitized to the importance of collecting and preserving evidence in accordance with the prescribed legal procedures.
During the programme, Shri Sandeep Shandilya, IPS (Retd.), Director, EAGLE Force, was also felicitated for his contribution to strengthening efforts against drug abuse and related offences.
The programme underscored the commitment of the Future City Police to adopting professional, evidence-based approaches and ensuring effective enforcement of laws to combat the growing threat of narcotic drugs.
