Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh: Ahead of the upcoming festivals, Bilaspur Police have intensified preventive and enforcement measures across the district to ensure peace, public safety and effective maintenance of law and order. As part of the sustained drive, action has been taken against 35 individuals across nine police station areas.
The coordinated operation focused on preventing criminal activities and identifying individuals whose activities could potentially disturb public order during the festival period.
As part of the crackdown, 14 persons were proceeded against under the Arms Act, demonstrating the police department’s firm approach towards illegal possession and use of weapons. Police also arrested five individuals against whom standing warrants were pending, strengthening efforts to ensure that wanted persons do not evade legal proceedings.
In addition, 13 preventive actions were taken against individuals as a precautionary measure to prevent possible disturbances and maintain a peaceful atmosphere during the upcoming celebrations.
Police also took action in two scrap-related cases, resulting in the recovery of approximately 310 kg of scrap material valued at around ₹72,000. The recovery represents effective enforcement against suspected unlawful activities involving scrap materials.
In another significant development, police apprehended one suspect in a robbery case and recovered a knife and an iPhone allegedly connected with the case. The recovery has further strengthened the investigation into the robbery incident.
The comprehensive action reflects the Bilaspur Police’s proactive approach to crime prevention and festival security. By combining preventive policing, warrant execution, action under the Arms Act and recovery of suspected stolen or unlawfully possessed property, police are working to ensure that residents can celebrate upcoming festivals safely and peacefully.
