Ranga Reddy, Telangana: The Maheshwaram Zone SHE Teams conducted an awareness programme for 360 students at PM SHRI ZPHS, Irvin Village, focusing on women and child safety and the prevention of crimes against vulnerable groups.
During the programme, SHE Teams sensitised students about the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, child marriage, human trafficking, drug abuse and cybercrime. Students were encouraged to recognise potential risks, remain alert and promptly seek assistance when they face or witness unsafe situations.
The students were also briefed on the role and functioning of SHE Teams and the support available through police helplines. Officials explained the use of T-Safe and emergency services, helping students understand how to access police assistance during emergencies.
Police officials further advised students to exercise caution while using social media and online platforms and encouraged them to report suspicious or unsafe activities without hesitation. The programme highlighted the importance of responsible online behaviour and approaching the police whenever assistance is required.
The awareness initiative reflects the Maheshwaram Zone SHE Teams’ commitment to strengthening safety awareness among students, preventing crimes against women and children, and promoting a secure environment for young people.
