Ranga Reddy, Telangana: In a proactive initiative to enhance the safety of school children, Rajendranagar Traffic Police, in collaboration with the Traffic Training Institute (TTI), Goshamahal in Ranga Reddy district organized a Traffic Awareness Programme for 50 school bus drivers and vehicle assistants (ayahs) at Sri Vidyaranya International School, Bandlaguda.
The programme aimed to strengthen road safety awareness among school transport personnel and reinforce their responsibility in ensuring the safe travel of students. Participants received practical guidance on understanding mandatory, warning, and informatory traffic signs, road markings, and the importance of strictly following traffic regulations.
Special emphasis was placed on adopting safe driving practices, including the correct use of rear-view mirrors, safe overtaking techniques, and careful navigation through roundabouts. The training also highlighted the critical role of vehicle assistants in ensuring the safe boarding and de-boarding of students and maintaining vigilance throughout the journey.
Police officials further educated participants about common traffic violations, their legal consequences, and the importance of responsible driving behaviour. The programme encouraged drivers and assistants to prioritize discipline, patience, and safety while transporting children.
The awareness initiative reflects the Police’s commitment to preventing road accidents and creating a safer commuting environment for school children. Through regular education and capacity-building programmes, the department continues to promote responsible road behaviour and strengthen public safety, ensuring that every child travels to and from school securely.
