Dindigul, Tamil Nadu: Acting on a tip-off received by Dindigul District Superintendent of Police (SP) Jayakumar that ganja was being smuggled by train from Odisha to Palani in Dindigul district for sale, a special team led by Palani Taluk Police Inspector Sathiyamurthy conducted intensive surveillance. During this operation, the team apprehended three individuals—Gilson (21), Dharshan (21), and Johnson (23)—who were found hiding with a stash of ganja in the Pethanaickenpatti area. Police seized 21 kilograms of ganja from them and are now actively searching for several other individuals from Dindigul in connection with the case.
