Trivandrum: Citizens can conveniently apply for a Police Clearance Certificate online using their smartphones, laptops, or computers, eliminating the need to visit a police station. This certificate confirms the individual’s lack of involvement in criminal activities and is essential for various purposes such as employment, education, recruitment, and travel. The official method to access this service is through the “Paul App,” endorsed by the Kerala Police. Upon downloading the Paul app and completing the registration process, users can select the “Certificate of Non Involvement in Offenses” from the service menu and submit required documents. These documents include a passport-sized photograph, photo ID proof, address proof (such as Aadhaar), and details about the requesting party and purpose of the certificate.
Furthermore, applicants can specify whether the certificate should be issued by the District Superintendent of Police or the Station House Officer. After providing the necessary information and documents, applicants will receive a link to make the fee payment online to the treasury. Upon payment, the application can be submitted. The police department will then review the application and subsequently issue the certificate. This certificate can be easily downloaded and printed directly from the app, completely bypassing the need to visit a police station. A similar application process is available through the “Tuna Portal.” It’s important to note that for obtaining a Police Clearance Certificate for international travel purposes, individuals must approach the relevant Passport Seva Central/Regional Passport Office. The Paul App can be downloaded from this link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details. For more information, visit the Kerala Police Help Portal at https://thuna.keralapolice.gov.in/.
