Hyderabad, Telangana: A high-level inter-departmental coordination meeting was held at Madhura Nagar Community Hall in the Jubilee Hills Zone to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the upcoming Bakrid festival. The meeting was chaired by DCP Shri A. Ramana Reddy, with participation from senior officials of the Police, GHMC, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary, and Transport Departments, along with nearly 200 stakeholders including cattle transporters, Qureshi community members, and beef shop owners.
During the meeting, emphasis was laid on strong inter-departmental coordination to effectively manage logistics, law enforcement, and public convenience. It was decided that checkposts would function round-the-clock in three shifts to monitor animal movement and ensure adherence to legal norms.
Strict instructions were issued to prevent illegal transport, sale, or slaughter of cows and calves. All transporters were directed to carry valid veterinary certificates and authorized transport documents. GHMC officials were tasked with ensuring sanitation and proper waste management, while the police outlined comprehensive traffic regulation measures to avoid congestion.
All stakeholders were urged to work in coordination with authorities, uphold communal harmony, and strictly follow animal welfare and legal guidelines. The meeting concluded with a collective commitment to ensure peaceful, orderly, and law-abiding Bakrid celebrations.
