Telangana, Hyderabad: The North Zone Police held a significant meeting today with over 80 representatives from various church managements within the North Zone. The primary aim was to discuss concerns related to security, hygiene, community well-being, and preventive measures, fostering a safer environment for congregants and the surrounding community.

Key Points Discussed:

Enhanced Security Measures
Police stressed the need for robust security at religious sites, including installing and maintaining CCTV cameras at key locations like entrances and high-traffic areas. Church managements were urged to deploy trained security personnel, especially during services and major events, to deter criminal activity and ensure congregant safety.

Hygiene and Waste Management
Concerns about improper food and garbage disposal near religious premises were raised. Police emphasized the importance of regular garbage removal to prevent issues like stray animals and maintain the sanctity of the spaces. Church leaders were advised to coordinate waste management efforts to uphold cleanliness and community health.

Addressing Drug Abuse and Social Media Influence
The discussion also covered rising concerns about drug abuse and the negative impacts of social media on youth. Church representatives were encouraged to raise awareness, counsel youth, and educate them on the dangers of substance abuse, cybercrimes, and harmful online behavior.

Traffic and Parking Solutions
With growing congregations, parking challenges during large events were noted. Police recommended carpooling to ease congestion and suggested that churches explore nearby parking solutions.

Emergency Preparedness
Church managements were reminded to keep updated contact details for the Station House Officer (SHO) and Sector SI of their local Police stations. For immediate assistance, the community was urged to call the Police helpline at 100 during emergencies.

Addressing Street Dwellers and Miscreants
Concerns regarding street dwellers, drug addicts, and miscreants near religious institutions were discussed. Police called for greater community involvement and collaboration with law enforcement to address these challenges. Suggestions included regular patrols, community outreach, and prompt reporting to prevent disruptions.

Future Steps

The North Zone Police and church representatives committed to ongoing collaboration to implement the discussed measures. Regular follow-up meetings will be scheduled to review progress and address emerging issues.

The Police Department expressed gratitude for the active participation of church managements and their commitment to ensuring the safety, hygiene, and well-being of the community. This partnership between law enforcement and religious leaders is critical to fostering a secure and harmonious environment.

For assistance or emergencies, community members can contact their local Police stations or dial 100.
