NEW DELHI: The Delhi Police has arrested a man allegedly a youth wing leader of the Aam Aadmi Party for robbing a man of Rs 25 lakh and other valuables along with his associates here today. It is alleged that Najeeb (25) is the president of the AAP youth wing in Jaffrabad but the party has denied any connection with him. Police said, the incident happened on March 12 in Jaffrabad. Police added, the victim alleged that he was robbed of his bag containing Rs 25 lakh, a mobile phone and other documents at gunpoint. A passerby also sustained gunshot injuries as the gang members fires shots. Police said, one of the accused was caught by passersby from the spot. Police arrested later his associates including Najeeb, who had managed to escape from the spot. Rs 16,06,000, a country-made pistol, a motorcycle stolen by them had been recovered by the Police. A Police officer said, “They have accepted their involvement in more than 20 other cases of robberies and snatching in the areas of Civil Lines, Bada Hindu Rao, Pushta Usmanpur, Seelampur, Jaffrabad and Dilshad Garden”.
