Dibrugarh, Assam: Continuing its intensified crackdown against the illegal drug trade, Dibrugarh Police arrested four suspected drug peddlers during a late-night operation conducted in the Shantipara area of Dibrugarh on Wednesday.
The arrests were made as part of the ongoing anti-narcotics campaign aimed at dismantling drug networks and curbing the circulation of narcotic substances in the district. Police sources said the operation was carried out based on specific intelligence inputs and sustained surveillance of suspected drug traffickers.
The four accused were apprehended and further investigations are underway to ascertain their links with larger drug syndicates operating in the region. Police officials are also examining possible interstate and cross-border connections associated with the arrested individuals.
Senior police officers stated that the district administration and law enforcement agencies remain committed to maintaining relentless pressure on drug traffickers and ensuring a drug-free society. They reiterated that anti-drug operations would continue with greater intensity in the coming days.
