Kolar, Karnataka: In a successful operation against illegal narcotics cultivation, Excise Department officials arrested a man for allegedly cultivating marijuana plants behind his residence in Hodalwadi village of Kolar taluk.
Acting on credible information, a team led by the Excise Department conducted a raid at the residence of Chandraprakash. During the operation, officials discovered 22 marijuana (ganja) plants being illegally cultivated behind the house. The plants, measuring approximately 5 to 7 feet in height, were seized as evidence.
The accused was taken into custody, and the illicit crop was uprooted and confiscated. Further legal action has been initiated under the relevant provisions of the narcotics laws.
The operation was carried out under the leadership of Excise DySP Srinivasa Murthy, whose team acted swiftly to prevent the illegal cultivation and possible distribution of narcotic substances in the region.
This successful enforcement action highlights the vigilance of the Excise Department in combating drug-related offences and protecting communities from the harmful effects of narcotics. The raid sends a strong message that illegal cultivation, possession, and trafficking of drugs will be detected and dealt with firmly under the law.
