Andaman and Nicobar Island: The Andaman Islands are an Indian archipelago in the Bay of Bengal. These roughly 300 islands are known for their palm-lined, white-sand beaches, mangroves, and tropical rainforests. Coral reefs supporting marine life such as sharks and rays make for popular diving and snorkeling sites. Indigenous Andaman Islanders inhabit the more remote islands, many of which are off-limits to visitors. Bombooflat is a census town in the Andaman district of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The Andaman and Nicobar Police is the law enforcement agency for the union territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands in India. An organized form of Policing in Andaman and Nicobar Islands was established in August 1875 with the extension of the Indian Police Act of 1861 to Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Captain Wimberly was appointed as first District Superintendent of Police. In the same year, the Chief Commissioner of Andaman and Nicobar was vested with the powers and functions of the Inspector General of Police.
In order to check the arrangements and to motivate the staff deployed 24X7 on the ground the Inspector General of Police, Law and Order Mr. Madhup Tewari IPS visited the Bambooflat Hotspot in South Andaman. He was accompanied by the SP South Andaman Mr. Manoj C., IPS, and other officers.
