Bandipora: The security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have made a significant breakthrough in their ongoing operations against terrorist groups active in the region. According to a police spokesperson, two suspected militant associates of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) group were recently apprehended in Bandipora district’s Sumlar area. The arrested individuals were identified as Abrar Ahmad Wani, also known as Abu Qadir, and Danish Pervaiz.
The security forces were alerted to the suspects’ presence in the area following intelligence inputs regarding the movement of terrorist associates in the region. Acting on the information, security personnel set up a checkpoint near the fisheries farm in Sumlar and intercepted the suspects. During a search of their persons, two Chinese grenades and other incriminating materials were found and seized.
The suspects were immediately taken into custody and shifted to a local police station, where they are currently being held. The security forces have initiated further investigation into the matter, and a case has been registered against the suspects under relevant sections of the law.
The apprehension of these suspected LeT militant associates is a significant success for the security forces and underscores their commitment to thwarting terrorist activities in the region.
