Lucknow: Director General of Police (DGP) Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Prashant Kumar, convened a high-level meeting through video conferencing to discuss and implement strategies for maintaining peace and law and order across the state in light of the upcoming festivals and public events. Recognizing the potential challenges posed by large gatherings and heightened public activity, he emphasized the importance of a proactive approach to law enforcement and community safety.
During the meeting, DGP Kumar issued clear directives to Additional Director Generals (ADGs) of various zones, instructing them to thoroughly review the law and order situation in districts that have experienced disturbances or unrest in recent times. He highlighted the need for a detailed assessment of areas that may be vulnerable to security risks during the festive period.
Furthermore, the DGP called for the identification of officers and personnel who have demonstrated negligence or a lack of diligence in handling law and order situations in their respective jurisdictions. He stressed the importance of accountability within the force, urging senior officers to take immediate corrective actions where necessary. To ensure prompt action, DGP Kumar mandated that a comprehensive report on the situation, including the identification of negligent officers and any remedial measures taken, be submitted to his office by the end of the day.
