According to sources, between August 9 and 11, Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad is likely to call Jayant Athavale, the leader of a right wing group for questioning over arms hauls from different parts of the state. The arms haul came after the the arrest of the three members of the group during which crude bombs and weapons were seized . The police said that those accused of planning blasts in the state were picked up from Nallasopara in Palghar district last week. They were frequent visitors at the Sanatan Sanstha headquarters in Goa. According to the police, the members of the Goa-based right-wing organization having a pan-India presence are involved in the murders of rationalist Narendra Dabholkar and journalist Gauri Lankesh. After questioning Sachin Andure, the man who allegedly shot Narendra Dabholkar along with one Sharad Kalaskar, Nalasopara pistol manufacturing unit raid took place. The police said that Sharad Kalaskar was arrested along with Vaibhav Raut and Sudhanwa Gondhalekar on August 10, from Palghar and Pune districts in connection with the arms haul. He had admitted to the murder of Narendra Dabholkar. A former Shiv Sena corporator, Shrikant Pangarkar, was also arrested on Monday by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad for involvement with the arms haul. The investigators have questioned 16 people - located across Pune, Satara, Nallasopara, and Solapur for links alonG with the three arrested men.
