In the ongoing war against drug trafficking, the Central Investigation Department’s Special Branch (CID (SB)) has made a significant breakthrough in the form of a massive haul of heroin. The operation was carried out in the early hours of the morning, during which the team apprehended a Myanmar national, identified as Ginsuanlang, aged 34, son of Nangsianpau Sakawrlam from Tiddim.
The CID (SB) team executed the operation in the outskirts of Hnahlan village in Champhai District, where they confiscated a staggering 1.117 kilograms of heroin. The confiscated drugs were valued at an estimated Rs.5.585 Crores in the international market, equivalent to 100 soap cases.
The seizure of such a substantial amount of heroin is an exceptional achievement for the CID (SB) team, and their tireless efforts in this ongoing war on drugs deserve commendation. The accused and the confiscated drugs were immediately handed over to the Champhai Police Station for further investigation.
