Nalgonda: DIG Mr. A.V. Ranganath IPS said that most of the road accidents are due to driving under the influence of alcohol and one person is killed and at least three others are injured in road accidents in the district. Nalgonda SP Mr. Ranganath IPS expressed regret.

On Tuesday, the Traffic Training Institute at the district police office started educating those caught driving under the influence of alcohol for the first time by showing them the counseling process and videos of road accidents to those caught under the influence of alcohol.  He went on to say that the punishment was even greater for those who drank large amounts of alcohol and that drunk and drive should not be considered a major crime, while at the same time counseling was launched to protect ourselves and educate ourselves on the causes of accidents.  He said that TTI was working hard to reduce the number of drunk drivers and prevent road accidents.  “One person dies every day in our district and two are completely disabled due to road accidents every day, causing three families to fall on the road every day,” he said.  That is why by suggesting an idea about road accidents in everyone they suggested that the rest should be made aware.  He said it was not wrong to drink alcohol and at the same time it was a crime to drink and drive.  He said driving under the influence of alcohol is punishable by imprisonment for minor offenses.  He said that driving is a very important process and requires a lot of attention and concentration.  Alcohol ingested goes into the body and quickly mixes with the blood and travels to the brain, causing changes in brain function and loss of sensory perception.  While protecting ourselves, we are advised to take care not to drink and drive if we have a love for our wives, children, and family members.  Police officials were advised to take the Traffic Training Institute further and make it a better counseling center.

Lack of proper understanding, understanding the situation where a large number of road accidents are taking place due to small mistakes and suggested that everyone should feel responsible for preventing road accidents.  It was clarified that vehicles should not be given to minors and if vehicles are given to minors, cases will be registered against those who gave them the vehicle and their parents.  He said the counseling was initiated with a good intention.  He said that so far the policy has been started in the district which is only available in cities like Hyderabad.  He said the family members were called in to mobilize them.
