The Telangana Police have rescued in all 3,408 children, including 2,996 boys 412 girls from railway stations, bus stations, temple zones, traffic junctions, footpaths and other workstations from across the State between July 1 and July 31 as part of the nation-wide ‘Operation Muskaan’. Ms. Swathi Lakra, Inspector General of Police (Law and Order) and In charge of Women Safety said that 108 police teams, in coordination with Women Development and Child Welfare, Revenue, Health and Family welfare, Education Departments, Child Welfare Committees, District Child protection units and NGO’s were constituted for ‘Operation Muskaan-IV’. More than 630 children belonged to other States and 1,416 were handed over to their parents or guardians and the rest 1,592 children were sent to rescue homes Ms. Swathi added.
