Bengaluru: A computer science graduate has been arrested for allegedly stealing 133 laptops, 19 mobile phones and four tablets worth Rs 75 lakh from a paying guest hostel of IT employees in the city, Bangalore Police Commissioner B Dayanand said.
The accused, who used to work in an IT company, used to visit paying guest and bachelor accommodation and steal laptops and mobile phones from there.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested two persons who were selling the stolen electronic goods in the market. All three are currently in judicial custody.
About eight cases have been detected in the central division. Dayanand said that we are also checking from other police stations where he has committed the crime.
He said the Central Crime Branch in Bengaluru busted a major betting racket by raiding 11 locations and arresting 13 people. The police have registered 11 cases in this connection and seized Rs 10 lakh from them.
