Bengaluru: The High Grounds police arrested two persons on Saturday following a complaint stating that the duo had uploaded a WhatsApp video in which they were abusing Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy and his family the day the Lok Sabha election results were announced. The persons who were arrested were identified as Siddaraju, 26, and his friend Chamaraju, 28, a taxi driver. Both are residents of Chanatappana. The police said that after they received a complaint stating that a WhatsApp video was uploaded in which the duo abused the CM and his family the accused were picked up and on interrogating them they said to the police that they were upset with the CM’s family politics and his party’s poor showing at the Lok Sabha elections. The two persons uploaded the WhatsApp video in which they were abusing the CM and his family and it went viral and reached one of the party members who on viewing the video filed a complaint with the High Grounds police on Saturday. Based on the complaint the police tracked down the duo and arrested them. The two youths who are friends have been charged with Sections 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 505 (2) (intent to incite offence against community) and remanded into judicial custody. ]]>
