Chikkaballapur, Karnataka: In a significant step towards strengthening the fight against narcotics, the Chikkaballapur District Police successfully destroyed a large quantity of seized ganja following due legal procedures.
A press conference was held to brief the media about the destruction of 51 kg 115 grams of ganja, with an estimated market value of ₹24,77,650. The narcotic substance had been seized in 14 different criminal cases registered across Chikkaballapur district.
The seized ganja was scientifically destroyed during a Drug Disposal Programme conducted at the KIADB Industrial Area, Hoskote, in accordance with the prescribed legal and environmental guidelines.
The disposal programme reflects the district police’s continued commitment to preventing the recirculation of seized narcotic substances into society and ensuring transparent disposal of contraband. It also demonstrates the department’s zero-tolerance approach towards drug trafficking and its dedication to creating a drug-free community.
By eliminating a substantial quantity of illegal narcotics from circulation, the Chikkaballapur District Police have reinforced public confidence in law enforcement and sent a strong message that offences related to drugs will be dealt with firmly under the law.
