Bengaluru, Karnataka: In a major success against vehicle theft, Commercial Street Police have arrested a bike theft accused and recovered 11 stolen two-wheelers worth approximately ₹10.30 lakh, bringing relief to several vehicle owners across Bengaluru.
The case originated from the theft of a motorcycle parked near a roadside shop in Shivajinagar on April 4, 2026. Following the complaint, Commercial Street Police registered a case and launched a detailed investigation to trace the culprit and recover the stolen vehicle.
Through sustained efforts, technical analysis, and field investigation, police successfully identified and apprehended the accused, who had been absconding. During interrogation, the accused confessed to stealing motorcycles from different parts of Bengaluru.
Further investigation led police to a location where the accused had allegedly stored the stolen vehicles. Acting on the information, officers recovered a total of 11 stolen motorcycles. The combined value of the recovered vehicles is estimated at ₹10.30 lakh.
The recovery of such a large number of stolen vehicles highlights the effective investigative work and dedication of the Commercial Street Police team. The operation not only solved the original theft case but also helped uncover multiple vehicle theft incidents across the city.
Following the completion of police custody proceedings, the accused was produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody. Efforts are continuing to determine whether the accused was involved in additional vehicle theft cases and to identify any possible accomplices.
The successful operation reflects the commitment of Bengaluru Police to protecting public property, preventing vehicle theft, and ensuring that offenders are brought to justice.
