Bengaluru, Karnataka: Forest department officials have arrested four people in connection with the deer hunting case, who were released on bail in the attempt to kill wild animals. The arrested accused are Raghu (30), Pawan Kumar (19), Krishna (20) and Madesh (19) of Nallahalli village, who were hunting and transporting deer under the Wildlife Protection Act. The accused, originally from Nallahalli village in the taluk, were arrested by the Satanur forest department officials near Honaganahalli on the border of the taluk on Tuesday for hunting deer and transporting it in the forest. A car, a bike, two rifles, 2 cartridges and a battery have been seized from the accused. The hunters were arrested under the guidance of District Forest Conservator Ramakrishnappa on Tuesday while they were hunting in the Malavalli forest area and were returning to their hometown on Wednesday morning. The arrested accused are professional hunters, who have already been arrested in wild animal hunting cases and have been released on bail and are continuing their professional hunting. Citizens have demanded that the forest officials take strict legal action against such people. Satanur Zonal Forest Officer Balakrishna, Cauvery Wildlife Division Officer Anil, staff members Gopal, Hanumantha, Satish, and many others participated in the operation.
